 Stained Glass Workshop

Allison Cox teaches this class on Wednesdays and other days by schedule/appointment.  Students must be 18 or older.  All supplies and equipment are provided.   Each student will create a simple stained glass piece to either hang, or place in vase/plant.  A different piece is taught at each class.  

When:  Wednesdays   9 to 3 with lunch break  

Cost:   $40 per person

 Open Studio with Jan Faubel 

Adults who have their own paints and materials are welcome to join the Open Studio on the 2nd and 4th Thur afternoons for $20 per meeting.  Bring your own paints, brushes, paper or canvas with photos or objects for painting still lifes. 

When:   2nd & 4th Thursdays

2-4 pm at Gallery

4-6 pm at LESC (Senior Center) 312 College Ave off Circle Drive

 

Jan circulates among the students, trouble-shooting, answering questions, offering soft critiques (suggestions and tips) , and presenting the occasional short lesson on art theory and techniques. This is a relaxed and friendly group who gather to make art —no pressure!

Acrylic Art Classes with Sue Grimes

 

Sue Grimes teaches both watercolor and acrylic classes in a Realism/hard-edged style.  Students bring their own photo or pick from art book.  Class includes placing drawing on canvas using grid system, paint mixing and application.  Instruction times are Wednesday 11:00-3:00 or Saturday 9:30-12:30 at price of $40 per class.

Magic Moments with Art

NATIVE AMERICAN FINGER WEAVING (HS thru Adult)

   Classes include a discussion of Native American pow wows, traditional clothing, and the history of finger weaving.  The class is most appropriate for students in middle grades and above.  The class requires 2 sessions lasting 2.5 hours each.  The first session is $35 and the second is $10.  All materials are provided.

 

ORIGAMI (1st grade thru Adult)

     The origami classes include an overview of Japanese culture and a variety of options for origami projects.  Classes  can be adapted for elementary aged students and for older students. Cost for a 2.5 hour class is $25, all materials provided 

 

POLISH STARS (5th grade thru Adults)

    Polish stars are a tradition in Poland during the Christmas season.  Information about the tradition and instruction on how to make Polish stars are offered during the 2.5 hour lesson.  All materials are provided
